Beautiful easy projects for kids & adults!
The projects in this book are all fun and also nice to look at. Unlike some kids' projects, these are things I wouldn't mind having around my house!

I checked the book out from the library and had it for a whole year before I realized I should buy myself a copy.

A Parent's Guide to PlayStation Games
Published in Paperback by Mars Publishing (November, 2000)
Authors: Craig Wessel and Inc. The Stratos Group
Average review score:

This book is a must for parents and also money saver
Prices of todays game offerings are pretty steep and if you have more than one child who loves to play games (adults who are kids at heart included) then you have to buy this book. If there is a more comprehensive book about Playstation games, I have yet to find it. Craig Wessel is a well known author, much respected, writer of a parents guide to game buying and this book is one of the examples of how much research he does when writing his books. Not only are you given the complete outline of the games, but also recommendations of if this game is age appropriate. His books will not only save you money, when picking a game, but also disappointment of young ones of receiving a game which is not at all what they thought it would be. Excellent book and written with consumers in mind.

Philosophy: A Very Short Introduction (Very Short Introductions)
Published in Paperback by Oxford University Press (May, 2002)
Author: Edward Craig
Average review score:

Useful in the extreme.
A wonderful, lucid, entertaining and informative guide. Craig takes the reader step-by-step through some of the principal works of ancient and modern philosophy, and provides us with an essential guide to the somewhat daunting task of deciphering and understanding a range of compelling thinkers and their works. With an engaging, friendly writing style (and an excellent bibliography to encourage us to continue our journey), this is an indispensable little volume.

Picnics of Provence: French Country-Style Picnics to Enjoy at Home or Abroad
Published in Hardcover by Simon & Schuster (May, 1993)
Authors: Craig Pyes and Vincent Van Gogh
Average review score:

A great gift book from someone who really knows Provence.
The recipes and art in this book are really provocative of Provence. Mr. Pyes and Mr. Van Gough make a good team. Mr. Van Gough's illustrations have an exactitude that you want art to have; and Mr. Pyes writing is very impressionistic, just right for the chemistry of cooking. Too bad this book is out of print!

The Poetry of Friendship (Miniature Pop-Up Book)
Published in Hardcover by Running Press (March, 1995)
Authors: John Craig, William King, Running Press, Miniature Book Collection (Library of Congress), and Miniature Book Collection

The definition of Friendship
If you are having trouble understanding the meaning of friendship, you should read this book. When I first saw this book I thought,"Is a book this small worth reading?"But as the old saying goes,Don't judge a book by it's cover.Besides having some beautiful pop-up pictures, this book has some really interesting poems. For example, this poem by Ralph Waldo Emerson:"It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them."When I read this poem, memories of A.A.U summer basketball came flooding into my head.I remember on one occasion, about three of my friends and I had just finished enhaling about two Big Macs each.Since we were in a mall that had carousels,we decided to ride one. Now at the time we didn't realize how stupid that idea was going to be later. We all climbed onto our multi-colored horses and begin our journey into the world of sickness. After spinning around in circles about 20 times,we decided to get off.As soon as we got off,one by one we raced to the nearest bathroom and unloaded our lunches into the toilets.Afterwards, we all agreed that riding a carousel after lunch wasn't the greatest of ideas,BUT...at least we had fun.

The Politics of Gay Rights (The Chicago Series on Sexuality, History, and Society)
Published in Hardcover by University of Chicago Press (July, 2000)
Authors: Craig A. Rimmerman, Kenneth D. Wald, and Clyde Wilcox
Average review score:

An excellent and timely academic anthology
Most anything from University of Chicago Press is likely to be of high quality, and this anthology meets that standard. Gay and lesbian politics is an emerging and evolving discipline, and important milestones are occurring in real time. This volume, published in 2000, provides intelligent treatments of current issues but also plenty of context; while solid and scholarly, it mostly eschews the esoterica and pomo-homo preoccupations of many other works on the LGBT politics bookshelf. Chapters include treatments of history, policy, the Christian right, Congress, the Supreme Court, public opinion, and state and local politics. The editors and most of the contributors are well-known scholars and/or writers in political science or related fields (including Ken Wald, John D'Emilio, Craig Rimmerman, Keith Boykin, Didi Herman, Greg Lewis, James Button, Barbara Rienzo, Donald Haider-Markel, and Clyde Wilcox), and this is one of the book's strongest calling cards. Because it pulls together many topics addressed by some signature authorities in the field (many of whom have written book-length treatments of what appear here as chapters), "The Politics of Gay Rights" was, in my judgment, one of the first books in LGBT political science to be really useful as a core text for an undergraduate college course; I will be using it as such in a seminar on gay/lesbian politics in spring 2002 (please feel free to contact me for more information). But it's not a heavy-duty tome, so most anyone with serious interest in the subject should find it accessible and valuable.
